DEDICATED TO SERVE THE COMMUNITY

CASS is the brand name of a group of registered charities. It consists of a group of non-profit charities, including principally the parent entity, the Chinese Australian Services Society Ltd (founded in 1981), and the subsidiary, CASS Care Ltd (established in 2002) which is an endorsed public benevolent institution (PBI) by the Australian Taxation Office.
Following the establishment of CASS Care Ltd in 2002, and to better realise the vision and objectives of the Chinese Australian Services Society Ltd, the roles of the two entities were clearly defined for operational and strategic purposes. The Chinese Australian Services Society Ltd focuses on community affairs, relationships, and advocacy on social and rights issues, while CASS Care Ltd serves as a multicultural, multidisciplinary provider of community and social services.
Our story began on International Women’s Day in 1981. At the time, we saw in our communities that working parents had problems finding appropriate child care. So we started a volunteer telephone referral service to match these helpless parents with prospective carers, giving the in-demand support to our most vulnerable.
Today, we provide a comprehensive range of social and welfare services for the multicultural communities: home ageing, residential aged care, disability, employment & training, settlement & health, child care, volunteering and more. Our services span Metropolitan Sydney and Wollongong, with a growing presence in Melbourne. Together, we deliver high-quality services to people of all ages and backgrounds.
Each week, over 8,500 families engage with our activities and services, supported by over 850 employees and over 450 dedicated volunteers across the Group. Click the video link (CASS Video English version) to learn more about us!
